Title: Z77-D3H compatability problems with ATI Overdrive
Post by: Seanie on May 03, 2012, 03:59:26 pm
Hi,

So as the title says I having trouble with ATI Overdrive on my system, when I open up Catalyst and select Overdrive it just dissapears. No error nothing, strange I thought. I uninstalled then reinstalled Catalyst and it worked fine Overdrive showed up however on the next boot I get a failed to boot error, I havent touched the bios, eh. Then when Windows does boot I have the same problem, go to Overdrive click accept terms and it just dissapeaars.

Any known problems between Overdrive and the new z77 boards?

z77-D3H
Bios->F12
Windows 7 64

Hi

This isn't something that I have seen crop up on the forum before but there again these are new boards so it could be more common but just not shown up yet.

Hi
 Same problem here with Z77-D3H and Overdrive,
Try using 11.4 cats the Overdrive works with them , only problem is you have to unlock the card every time you reboot.  ;)

Good to know Del, I made a ticket XFX support they never heard of this either, so must be something to do with the motherboard. Anyway I just wanted to access the fan control in Overdrive to turn up the fans as my twin 6970's are running a little hot. Hopefully future bios update or new ATI drivers will sort this out. I'm surprised other people aren't having this issue, its minor so maybe they just don't notice/care.

Have you contactyed GGTS to let them know of the problem ? If not I would suggest doing it now. Maybe they can help by altering a BIOS for distribution. You can contact them here :

GGTS   http://ggts.gigabyte.com/

Please expect several days for a reply.

What is the make and model of your GPU? Are you using a single card or crossfire? I have had both my XFX 6970's in another Gigabyte board and Overdrive was working. So for me it has to be the motherboard or some software incompatibility. That fact that it is only you and I reporting it, is not a good sign. Did you use Easytune?

Not using crossfire, tried two cards a HD3870 and a 4870 same thing.(yes old but shouldent be a problem)

As said b4 , if I use the 11.4s it works but needs unlocking on reboot.
