The CD read performance on my machine is extremely poor. I have tried 3 different drives so doubt it is a drive problem.
Drives are SATA and poor performance is when copying to hard drive. Most of the time it is showing at less than 1 Mb per second.
Hard drive to hard drive copy seems to be OK.
Tried just about everything to resolve.
Anyone any ideas ???

Hmm it could be the fact you're using CDs and CDs don't have a very fast readtime compared to DVDs for example. But i'm pretty sure it should be faster than that. Are you plugging your HDD into SATA0 and your Optical driver into SATA1? Are you also using latest chipset drivers and BIOS revision?

Drivers and Bios both the latest available.
Not sure what you mean by am I using sata 0 or sata 1 could you expand please.
Forgot to mention that I am using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
Also that I am running with 5 hard drives and 2 DVDRW drives all SATA

Was just making sure you were using primary sata ports which are SATA0, SATA1, SATA2 etc etc. I usually plug my HDD in SATA0 and optical drive into SATA1 or 2
