Hello
I have a Gigabyte H55M-UD2H Mobo and need if possible to get a bootable RAID controller.
I was looking at the LSI MegaRAID 9240-4i cards but am not sure how compatible it would be?
I want to plug 3 or 4 HDD's and possibly use RAID5
Is there a compatibility list anywhere or is anybody using one of these boards with a RAID controller they could recommend?
Regards

Hi and welcome.
I don't actually use one myself so I can't talk from experience but from the other members on the forum who do use them apparently the Highpoint Rocket RAID cards are very good. From memory the two most usual ones are the 640 and 320 with the first one supporting 4 drives.

Hey, thanks for the info.
Can anyone confirm they have one of these with the H55M-UD2H Mobo?
Would hate to buy one just to have it refuse to boot in a raid config.

lol not sure why but these cards are £350, a bit out of my price range.
The key thing is I need whichever card I go with to be bootable
Somebody must have a definitive answer?
Thanks guys

Cheapest I can find the 9240-4i is approx £150, 8i is about £220
You need to be buying as many as possible at 50 Euros and sticking them on ebay, youo could make a fortune lol
