Title: GA-Z77X-UD5H - Can't access the BIOS
Post by: hazzy on May 07, 2012, 03:47:32 pm
Hi

Just got this board and so far very happy.

But a couple of questions please.

1) With my normal keyboard attached to a USB 2 port on a back plate extension or plugged to one of the blue USB I/O connectors on the mobo rear sockets, it will not recognize i have press the DEL key and just proceeds to boot Windows.  The only way i can access the BIOS is to connect another keyboard to the front plate USB 3 connector. Very odd. Any ideas?

2) I use a Dell monitor with a DisplayPort connector at 2560x1600.The BIOS screen will not show on this monitor. To see it at all i have to plug another monitor in to the DVI connector. Is there any way to show the BIOS screens on the DisplayPort connected monitor?

3) Finally i have an unrecognized device - PCI Simple Communications Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E3A&SUBSYS_1C3A145&REV_04. What is this and where do i find a driver for it?

Thanks in advance.

John

you need to update your bios with latest beta F8a to get your keyboard recognized in bios menu ,latest offical is F6 but still broken or wait for new one, the PCI Simple Communications Controller you need to install Intel Management Engine Interface chispet driver

Hi and welcome.

I see that hisham has already answered you main query. He is quite correct though that you need to update the BIOS to the latest version./ If you can't get hold of it on the UK website tyry checking out TweekTown in the US as they often have updates before we do.

Regarding the Display Port the only thing I can think of is make sure that you have a native cable and are not trying to connect via an adapter.

I run beta BIOSes all the time and  a freind of mine only uses them!  Generally Beta versions are fine by the time they get to the official website. You should be fine.  ;)

I'm also experiencing your #2 problem, have a similar monitor and it doesn't show the BIOS. What I do, is to connect a TV on the VGA. Are you still having the problem?
