Title: GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.3): putting PCIE sound card in PCIEX8 slot
Post by: silapakorn on May 10, 2012, 03:49:58 am
I wonder if I can put a PCIE sound card (x-fi titanium HD) in the PCIEX8 slot (for 2nd vga card).
I can’t use any of the PCIE1 slots on the board; PCIE1_1 is blocked by cpu cooler, PCIE1_2 and PCIE1_3 are blocked by the graphic card (gigabyte gtx580 windforce). If I am able to do so, will my graphic card run at 16x or 8x? Are there any downsides on using this setup?

Thanks for your help.

It will probably make your Graphics card (PCI-E) run @8X instead of 16X though.
