Hello Gigabyte community,
I would like to use the GA-A55M-S2V in a HTPC, and connect it to a 1080p TV via a DVI-to-HDMI cable. My question is, will the motherboard output an audio signal via the DVI-D connector? I do not want to have to use a separate cable for audio. If it will not, will a more advanced motherboard with a HDMI port (such as the GA-A75M-D2H) do it?

I contacted Gigabyte directly and was told:
"Only HDMI port and Displayport support for output audio and video at the same time. Due to you used DVI-to-HDMI cable, we can not promise it can output the audio properly."
He didn't say it definitely won't work, but he also didn't say it would :P
Better not risk it, guess I'll have to pay the extra $30 for the model with an HDMI port.
