Hi,
I am planning to buy a new Z77 gigabyte motherboard and the main focus will be putting 2 SSD into Raid 0. I had bad luck with my old gigabyte motherboard U55. It had only Marvell controllers >:( and the speed was 3 times slower in Raid 0.
I planning to buy this motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4142&dl=#ov
Can somebody tell me what controllers this motherboard is using. I know that Marvell controllers are not so good. Intel controllers are much better.
Thanks everybody that can help me!

Hi
You are talking about the old Marvell 9128 controller chip, the new ones are fine. Besides the motherboard you are talking about doesn't have any Marvell on the board. It has two 6GBs SATA ports and they would be the best ones to use for the SSD RAID0 array. SATA3_0 and 1. It is much faster now. Even on your old board if you located the RAID on the two Intel ports they would have been quite fast just not up to SATA3 speeds.
