Title: Help! Updated GA-P67A-UD3-B+ BIOS from f4 to f9 and cannot boot!
Post by: soarwitheagles on June 06, 2012, 02:02:54 pm
Hi again everyone!

Ok, I attempted to update my GA-P67A-UD3-B+ from F4 to F9.  Now my system will not boot.

The BIOS update I used was:

mb_bios_ga-p67a-ud3-b3_f9

My biggest mistake is that I did not back up all my important files [pictures, tax documents, passwords, etc.]  My wife's ears are kinda red right now.

When I turn my system on, I obtain the BSOD.

I also see a screen message that says, "Boot drive inaccessible."

Also, when I see screen come on, I see Port 00 with no drive listed.  My Intel SSD with the OS is listed as in the next port.

Is there anyway I can go back to the old BIOS?

Someone please help me!

Soar

Another very, very BIG thank you to DM again!

He gave me excellent instructions and helped me to be back up and running within minutes.

Here's the instructions he gave me just in case there is anyone else out here that had the same challenge:

I don't think it is any great problem from what you have said. What we need to do is to make a couple of changes and you should be back in business again.

1st Load Optimised BIOS Defaults and save exit the BIOS.

2nd Change the boot priorities so that the SSD is the primary drive. Make sure that all instances of this in the BIOS point to this drive.

3rd Change the SATA mode to AHCI as I guess that was what you were using before.

4th Save and exit.

Eureka!!!

The help offered here on this forum is the reason why I ONLY purchase Gigabyte motherboards for my personal computers!

Gigabyte Forums rocks!
