Title: 990FXA-UD3 Random Freezes
Post by: DOUGN85 on June 22, 2012, 01:18:38 am
GA-990FXA-UD3
Phenom x2 550 unlocked to x4 B50(unlocked stable on old MB)
8GB 1333mhz ram-(Stable on old MB)
GTX570-(Stable on old MB)
C300 64GB SSD (Stable on old MB)
ThermalTake 650W PSU (Stable on old MB)

Bought the new motherboard, upgrade from a 770 gigabyte board, just cause I got an awesome deal on it. It was New in box.(wanted sata 6/gb and to future proof)

So Installed Win7, installed drivers, windows updates and diablo3/battlefied3

Games Run fine 100%

Windows however during idle/web browsing, completely random screen freezes, forced to pull the plug to reboot.
Eventlog...no issues
Ran passmark Burn in test...no isssues
Ran memtest bootable...no issues
Reinstalled windows with a different image..same issue.

Any help would be greatly appretiated. Thank You

Turns out I dropped my cpu to 2 cores and im stable. Read up that the 990 compared to the 770 needs further tweaking due to the wider ranger of unlockable cpus. or maybe my cores died in the move
