Title: Memory compatibility
Post by: mr_g on July 14, 2012, 03:26:24 pm
Are there anyone here with a gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud7 motherboard using any gskill trident x series ram? I bought a set of 2x4gb gskill trident x ddr3 2400mhz and it would not boot up at all. I am getting a C1 error post code on the motherboard. Installed my old corsair ram back in and everything booted up fine. I just wanted to ask if anyone is successful with these gskill trident x series ram with the gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud7 motherboards.

That memory isnt compatiable with an amd processor as it goes from 2400 to 2800 mghtz.

This set of modules from G.Skill is part of its Trident X line-up, which includes DDR3 modules from 2400MHz to 2800MHz in capacities ranging from 8 to 32GB. The set I am looking at is the F3-2400C10D-8GTX 2x4GB 2400MHz kit. It is designed to run in systems using Intel Third Generation Core series processors and motherboards equipped with an Intel Z77 chipset.
