Title: Shogun Total war 2 and GA-990-FXA-UD3. Help!
Post by: Mrtibbs on July 22, 2012, 02:27:15 pm
This has probably been posted before, and i have already contacted Gigabyte directly with no reply, but i am having the problem which everyone seems to be having that i cant run Shogun Total war 2 because i am running a Bulldozer chip.

It gets to the first screen, freezes, then resets computer.

My Motherboard and Processor are below.

MD: GA-990-FXA-UD3
Processor: AMD FX4 Quad core 4100

I know you will maybe need more information but is there anyone out there who can shed some light and also help me in regards to fixing this problem. All i want to do is start dominating.

It is a mixture of bulldozier and chrome and other things. Make sure your bios is up to date, make sure video drivers are up to date, make sure windows is fully updated.

Yes there may be issues related to the BIOS your motherboard has ,but Shogun 2 has a huge amount of stability problems no matter your hardware.

The game itself ,in spite of the huge amounts of patches , is simply broken. The game engine can t really do it s job properly ,it leaks or something.

Install latest motherboard BIOS to keep overall system stability ( it will crash only itself and not the whole computer) and use DX 9 while playing it ,it crashes less ,you can play a few hours before it drops :) .

I would suggest you to play Napoleon instead  ,it doesn t crash . :)
