I presently have a GA-P55-USB3 motherboard. Unfortunately, my video card is on the way out. Now I noticed the specifications list PCI-e 2.0 standard for this motherboard but I was wondering if 2.1 would work as well. Possibly 3.0 if possible too. I need to buy a new video card and it seems that all the newest cards are 2.1 or 3.0 PCI-e and before I go ahead and purchase a graphics card, I want to be sure that it will be compatible and work to the best of it's ability. Thank you very much.

After doing some research, it seems that PCI-Express is backwards compatible and shouldn't have issues with a 3.0 card in a 2.0 slot but I still want to ensure that it will be fine with my specific model so I leave it to the experts here to help me decide.
