Hi, I've just finished making a computer with a GA-B75M-D3H mother board and a case with AC97 front audio I'm having audio trouble.
The manual for the motherboard says it supports HD audio and AC97 but HD audio by default, where would i go to change it to AC97 so i can get sound through my front audio ports.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
You usually have to use a different connector that comes attached to the cable that connects to the front audio ports on the case and the audio header on the motherboard. It is usually marked on the side as such. If you are still having problems please post back.

Hi, there was only one connector on the front panel and only one port on the motherboard (they're both just labeled F audio)

That sounds as if it is probably a budget case then.
Is the sound working alright from the rear speaker outlets ?
Have you got it enabled in the BIOS ?
The connector from the front panel of the case should be attached to the light green motherboard header in the bottom left hand corner. It should only fit one way around.

Yes, the case is a fairly cheap one.
Audio on rear ports work fine.
In the bios i have audio enabled but i'm not sure if i switch something over for it to support AC97.
Yes, the cable is connected to the motherboard in the only correct orientation.

In that case I should check your settings in Control Panel/Sound and make sure that they are all correct. I expect one of them is not.

Hello.
Do you manage to solve this?
I have same problem.
