Hello, I just installed this new board (GA-970A-UD3) with old WinXP OS. Everything is working fine except ethernet. I tried uninstalling the onboard RealTek and using a D-Link NIC card instead but it's exactly the same situation. If I can't fix it, I will try a clean OS install and see if that helps. Any ideas, hints, suggestions?

I would do the clean install and make sure you install the chipset drivers if windows 7 doesnt do it for you. Even with ethernet drivers it wont be seen if you dont have the right chipset drivers and to stop conflicts with old drivers is always best to do a clean install when changing out motherboards.

Thanks for the reply Autotech. I should have mentioned that I did install all the latest drivers from Gigabyte's website. If anyone has an idea how to fix it without reinstalling the OS, please let me know - thanks.

Ok then Download and install driversweeper. from the following link.

Uninstall all old chipset drivers and old eternet drivers and so on then restart in safe mode by tapping F7 as computer starts. Run driversweeper again to make sure you got everything then restart and let windows 7 load all generic drivers then re install only the drivers you need if something isnt working right or you want features from a program that comes with it.
This works 95% of the time dude hope you are in it if not then a clean install is the next thing i think of.
