Title: what compression archiver do you use? which one is the best?
Post by: Beekeeper on December 05, 2009, 05:17:45 pm
hi all

i was using the zip utility integrated inside win xp for a long time, but recently found out that 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) generates smaller size files, which is definitely better. and it's free (legal :D) unlike to winrar

what is your choice and why?

I've been using 7-Zip for a while now.
Although I have come across some archives that needed WinRAR to open but only if 7-Zip has failed first.

I also like the fact you can download it as an MSI and automate installation - means if I set up a new PC it gets 7-Zip on from the get-go =)
