Title: Voltage lock on HD 7900 series

Hi,
I am about to buy a gigabyte windforce hd 7950 modell. A friend of mine got a HD 7970 windforce recently and it was voltage locked. Are the current HD 7950 modells from Gigabyte locked too? That would be a shame because i definitely wanna do some undervolting. Btw are all the HD 7970s locked nowadays?

Hi and welcome.

I am afraid that I don't know the answer to that one but I would be surprised if it were the case. I am still running the 6970 and can't afford to upgrade at the moment.  :'(
