Hello,
I will get straight to the question, as there is no need for background information. When could we expect to see drivers for Windows 8 for the AMD AM3+ motherboards, seeing as they are advertised as "Windows 8 ready"? Specifically I am interested in GA-990FXA-UD5. That is all.
Best regards,

I have tested Windows 8 on 970A-UD3 few months ago ,everything was detected out of the box and working ,to bad W8 is not really meant for PC desktops .You don t need drivers.
Install Windows 7 instead.Unless you want to use a touch screen i see no reason you would want W8 as it s a step backwards :)

Well aware of it. I'm working on that. Rather other people are working on that, I'm waiting for them to come through. :)

Sure... hardware floats in the kernel space and is communicating through telepathy. Now seriously, I don't need MS generic drivers on my PC(with fewer exceptions).

For Windows 7 the only drivers you install are the LAN and sound ones. The chipset one is mostly useless ,it installs only some USB filter driver lately .
The AMD AHCI driver for W7 is also inferior to the included one performance wise regarding AMD southbridge.
Except for a proper video driver there is not to much to install.
Also each driver can be found on the manufacturer website in a newer version that Gigabyte is posting ,so you should search W8 drivers there.
The "Windows 8 ready" means that the motherboard has been tested to work with Windows 8 out of the box by Microsoft.
In time those drivers that you say do wonders will appear don t worry.
