Title: GA-MA790X-DS4 new win 7 install do i need gigabyte drivers
Post by: RobTi on August 30, 2012, 11:00:20 pm
Hi looking to do a re-install win 7 64 on the above board for the nephew , when i last did this i didn't need any gigabyte drivers but have been told that he can't get it to stay in sleep even with all devices unplugged except gpu, so as he has been filling up the hard drive with junk decided to wipe everything and reinstall.

So should i do a install then just let win update everything or instal the gigabyte drivers first

Thanks

Robert

To avoid issues install only the drivers really needed like LAN ,USB and audio available on Gigabyte website.
AHCI drivers can give issues so Windows included ones should be good enough.
Add the video drivers and thats all.
Then connect to network and update everything else.

The board should work just fine with Windows 7

You dont even need the LAN driver; windows 7 driver always works best for me.

USB 3 and audio will be needed though
