Hello everyone
I had a strange issue with my USB not working on WIN7 boot, but worked fine in BIOS. To rectify this I tried to reboot after turning off PSU (cable as well), but after that there was no power or life on my board. Initially I thought this was the PSU, but I did a manual power-on check on it, and it works fine as far as I can tell (the fan works...). So I now suspect the MB naturally. I need either confirmation on this og help in further testing or ideas on how to proceed. Anyone else had this USB problem before?
MB: ga-x58a-ud5
PSU XFX 750W black edition
Much regards
JT

Hi
Please post a list of your main components not just the mobo and PSU.
I would suggest tackling this one step at a time for now. Try doing an extended clear of the CMOS and see if that gets you back into play.
Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.
Once done remove the motherboard battery for five hours before replacing it.
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.
Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.
Next post back with the outcome please.
