Title: Z77X-UD5H
Post by: Zardoc on September 11, 2012, 12:50:02 am
Hi All,

This is my first Gigabyte board and it seems to have a mind of it's own.

I have Microsoft Laser 6000 V 2.0 Mouse & Keybord combo and
a Coolermaster Haf X EATX Tower

First of all When I try to enter the CMOS, I can't use keyboard or mouse with USB 2.0 port in tower. I can only use the 3.0 port in the tower.
Worst of all, I installed bios update F14. When I boot in Cmos, keyboard works but not mouse and what is weird is that it's the same receiver for the mouse and board combo.

I rolled back the bios to F13 and now I'm back with the same issue. All USB ports work in Windows but only USB 3.0 will work to access Cmos.
I have to change my receiver from port 2.0 to port 3.0

I have never had this type of issue with my 2 Asus boards (P7P55D PRO P8P67 PRO) that used to have this keyboard and mice combo installed.

I am now using an Azio keyboard and Logitech MX Laser and I have the same issue. Can't acess Cmos with port 2.0 on tower, only 3.0

 >:(
Anyone have a guess?

You have to use the F8 bios.  F13, F14 has major issues.  With all the bios versions there is a wireless mouse/keyboard lag issue.  To solve this issue, you need to switch the wireless dongle on the usb ports until problem is gone. A couple ports should wourk without issue. You need to experiment and find out what port works best for you.  Hopefully gigabyte will fix this issue.

F13, 14  bios will crash your computer, do not use. And let gigabyte know about your problems you are having.

To enter cmos you have to hit the delete key several times during startup, like as much as you can.  I ran into this same issue.

All the problems you are going through is directly related to glitches in the bios.  However gigabyte is a good company and the will eventually fix these issues.

Do not use any bios over F8.   Whatever you do, never flash your bios (unless it is the only way possible) in windows with @bios.    Sure it will work a few times but one day it will corrupt your bios.  I recommend only using Q-flash.

Hi Ac,

Thanks for your input.

That's exactly the issue!

I hope that the Gigabyte engineers read the posts of this forum.

This board is like buying a sports car with all the perks but but none of the accessories work  >:(

Bummer.

VIA doesn't offer USB driver updates for the VL 810. I have been building boards for over 15 years and this is the first total incompatibility that I have found between two chips that offer USB 2.0 and 3.0. I have 2 Asus boards (ASUS P7P55D-E PRO, Asus P8P67 PRO REV 3.0) working and I don't have any USB issues with front or back panels. I can update bios, change a 3.0 to a 2.0 or whatever and everything works like a charm. Imagine you plug 2 USB 3 keys in front USB ports and one just stalls.

Just doesn't make sense especially to the average Joe who just simply installs his OS, and hopes to have a fully functional machine.

Nothing on the Gigabyte website said you that you can have all these ports available but don't do this or that or it might not work.

Like Joe Biden said, what a bunch of malarchy.
