Title: need info on installing a Q9550 on a GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775
Post by: passnthru2 on September 13, 2012, 01:10:09 am
i built the GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 into a computer for my wife with an Intel e7500.  i was upgrading my ASUS Rampage Formula, with the Q9550, but the ASUS people never really fixed the problems this board had from the beginning.  i was so impressed with the GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775  i decided to retire the Rampage Formula, i'm sending it to E-bay to find work elsewhere.

i bought the GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UP5 TH LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

CORSAIR DOMINATOR GT 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000

Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler

MSI R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Rosewill THOR V2-White Edition, THOR V2-W Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case, support up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, come with Four Fans

Windows 7 Pro  64bit

and i have the rest here on this computer, 750 watt PSU, 7.1 Sound Wave audio card, WD 1Tb HD.

so i guess now i can play BF3.

anyway.... does anyone have a good link to how to put the Q9550 into the GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775-do the BIOS etc.. this will give me a few points toward getting  outa the dog house if the wife ever finds out i built my new computer.
