Title: 78LMT-USB3 post problem
Post by: samuals on September 22, 2012, 07:31:52 pm
I wonder if anyone can help, I've just installed a 78LMT-USB3 rev 4.1 motherboard with an AMD 965 Black edition CPU bought from Aria and my system will not post, no keyboard lights and no VGA with either onboard video or add in graphics card. All fans are spinning.

Hi

Have you made sure that you have installed all the power cables in the motherboard ? There is the 24 pin and the 8 pin.

Have you made sure that the BIOS version supports the processor that you have put in ?

Actually I have just checked and according to my data the CPU is not supported on this motherboard.

You were in luck the board did not booted with that CPU you would have seen smoke most probable :)
Change motherboard or CPU so they fit each other.
Small form factor moos are usually not fitted for high TDP  CPU-s like AMD 965 Black edition. If it s the 140 W TDP one you were really lucky to not see smoke.
Do not boot it up again.
I would buy another motherboard as the CPU is excellent.
