Hi. Can anyone tell me which battery the old GA7ZXR mobo takes? It is for my sister's system and I don't want to go all the way over there to remove it to have a look then reset and then do it all again to fit. Lazy huh?

More than likely its a standard CR2032. 99% of motherboard's for home use have that type and as far as i have seen gigabyte is no different. Server batteries are usualy lithum batteries but as you are a home user go with the CD2032

Hi
Yes autotech is absolutely correct it is a CR2032 button cell. It is worth keeping a couple of these as spares as they are almost universal.

Thanks peeps. Ooh look, I have one of those. Now I know why ;D

Always pays to keep a couple spare as they are only about a pound in value. ;)

Indeed. I just bought 5 panasonic ones off fleecebay for £1.89 delivered.
Turns out I could have just typed "motherboard batteries" into the ebay search bar.

Sounds like a fair deal this time. ;)
