Title: G1.Sniper 3 PWR-BTTN
Post by: Lummo on September 26, 2012, 12:46:35 pm
Hello,

I am building a new machine around the G1,Sniper 3. I've updated it to the latest BIOS - F7.

The initial/factory PWR-BTTN setting was for Intant-Off.

I changed the setting to Delay 4 secs. and saved.

I have now changed it back to Instant-Off and saved again but I still have to hold the power button down for four seconds in order to power down.

Does any body else have this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

All the best,
Adrian

Hi

Have you reboted since saving the changes ?

Make sure that the Backup BIOS hasn't overwritten the Main BIOS with the default settings. I would suggest making sure that your Main BIOS is running ok and then synchronise the two chips so they are both the same with the same profiles.

Hello (Yes. I'm British  ;)),

Thanks for your suggestions. I've rebooted, powered off and on several times and no change. The BIOS shows the PWR-BTTN is set for immediate shut down but it doesn't. I'll try synchronising the two BIOSen or maybe set the current from the backup because it used to do immediate shutdown when I first got it. The default setting on this one is the one that I want.

I'm a bit stuck at the moment because it turns out that the CPU cooler (Corsair Hydro Series H60 V2 Advanced Liquid Cooling) isn't. It looks as though the pump in the CPU unit isn't pumping so it's getting quite hot (85C!) Things are so quiet these days that's it's hard to tell whether they are running or not. it did run for a short while when I swapped it around the fan connectors. It made a horrible noise so I guess that I got a faulty one. The supplier is shipping me a replacement. I'm not going to be doing anything more until that's arrived.

regards,
Adrian
