Title: Video Card Recommendation for a GA-P45T-ES3G LGA 775
Post by: BBorges on October 04, 2012, 02:06:02 am
Hi guys,

I am running Gigabyte GA-P45T-ES3G LGA 775d with Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) +  Quad Q9450, on a Windows 7 64 bit platform.

System is very solid BUT after adding a second monitor, it freezes constantly when overloading the secondary screen - the entire system freezes up and I am forced to shut it down and reboot it.

I am very disappointing at the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS that I currently own [ 256Mb, 128 bits, 675Mhz ] and the fact that my desktop is not stable if the second monitor is used.   >:( >:( >:(

I come here to the Gigabyte forum to ask for recommended Dual Display Video Card, DVI OUTPUT fully compatible with my Gigabyte mobo.

And I understand we have a range of VGA available on the market, so I would like to clarify the application:

- Photoshop
- AutoCAD
- Video playback

- NO GAMING at all.

No need for the best VGA on the market, but I am looking for a dual DVI do safely drive two 23" monitors running at full resolution.

I really appreciate any feedback!

Thanks!

I would go for something like this

I know it is not a Gigabyte card but hopefully it should meet your needs.........

Thanks for the recommendation, I like the price a LOT!   ;D ;D ;D

I wasn't necessarily  looking for Gigabyte VGA, but more full compatibility. Is this considerably more robust than the GTS 8600?

If no one else has another recommendation, then I'll just order this card!

Thanks again!

It won't be a 'huge' improvement by far, but it will be faster and use less power and should run dual monitors fairly easy.

To be honest I reckon you will notice a big improvement overall by going for the card that Fatman suggested. As you said the price is good too. Buy it!  ;)
