Title: hdmi dvi issue
Post by: Noisytone on October 05, 2012, 03:55:31 pm
Hi all ,

i have a problem with my hdmi dvi from the pc to monitor and tv ,

Ok basically i used to have my tv connected from the dvi to the onboard in the back of the computer , my monitor was connected by vga to the card as well  .
I have changed the monitor connection by using the onboard hdmi to the monitor dvi by an adapter . When it was connected by dvi vga i had no problem being able to extend the displays to both tv and monitor . Now in this config i cannot detect a second display in the settings .

There seems to be some sort of issue when using these ways of connecting up , is the card not able to support this type of connection or is it down to settings ?? .

MB Gigabyte  GA-MA790GP-DS4H

Any help appreciated

Thanks in advance

You can't use BOTH digital (i.e. HDMI and DVI) video connections at the same time on any on-board video MB.

You CAN use one analog (VGA) and one digital as you have already found out
