Shouldn't this have been advertised on Halloween?  The colors would have matched perfectly!

EXACTLY!

And all of the conditions were perfectly clear: the prize, the time frame available able to participate, when and how the winners will be informed (through E-mail and on the official (global) GIGABYTE site - http://www.gigabyte.com/ (http://www.gigabyte.com/)). There was ABSOLUTELY nothing mentioned about that, what I'm reading today here only by chance. I followed the rules, completed the question form  and also made some optional comments (by the way - VERY positive ones and I meant so sincerely, because until now, I had very good experiences with not only the Gigabyte products, but also their customer service).

In order not to confuse something, I made 2 screenshots (SS) at that time in early November, 2012 (about the  prize, part of the questions being asked, SPECIFIC conditions of this contest...), just in case, I don't confuse something, when I was finished with answering the questions.

And I didn't. Thanx to the SS I did at that time. So if anyone is interested or wants to 'refresh' their minds on this, because they're asking the same question as I am and as dudenel was (his quote in the beginning) I'd be glad to post them.

But as it seems, the rules HAVE somehow in some-way at some time being changed.

So that leaves me to my final question. What was this in the first place? Only a promotional trick, advertisement?!  ???  :-\

Anyway, even if so, I would't be surprised, just a bit disappointed. By not winning the prize? Yes. But even more by the fact that I was so 'naive' to believe, I could even have a chance (albeit remote) to win something after being a loyal Gigabyte customer for so many years. I thought in this competition, this meant at least something. Obviously not.  :(

There were 2 different competitions with the same main prize, so this maybe the reason of your confusion.
The first comp was organized by our HQ.
The second one was organized by GIGABYTE UK and KitGuru.
