Title: LOCATION OF SERIAL NUMBER FOR GA-H55M-UD2H
Post by: jbleaux on November 16, 2012, 11:49:51 pm
I suspect  my mobo is defective and I need to locate the serial number so that I can see if it is in warranty.

Also, when was this board first made?

Thank you

Joe

Thank you

Joe

Hi there,

sorry I don't know when this motherboard was first produced but your serial number is printed on a label which is usually located on the side of  main power connector (24 pin). If it is not here it will usually be found located elsewhere on the motherboard, near the PCI slots or similar. Unless of course it has been removed.

It is also printed onto the original packaging, if you still have that.

Hey, you were lucky there jbleaux , you got a Moderator and Guru all in one in absic! I think the board was first produced about 3 years ago.

Yes, I was very lucky in several ways; one with both a guru and moderator answering me and, the fact that my mobo's serial number being 0949xxxxxxx
is apparently still in warranty.  Although the vendor has gone out of business, as I read that so many have, I am hoping that I can get this fine mobo repaired, replaced or whatever.

Fellows, thank you very much for the help.  I looked on the 'side' of the power connector and found nothing on either side of that.  However, when I was about to give up and plug he connector back into the board, I discovered that the 'side' quite litererally meant the actual side of the connector and not on the board on the side of the connector.

It was a label attached to the board edge side of the connector.

With all of that, I am splitting my 'sides' laughing and am somewhat beside myself with all of this business on the side.

Besides, take care.

Joe

Well glad to hear that you did manage to find the date and that it was still in warranty. Make sure that you contact Gigabyte quickly so as not to miss out.  ;)
