Title: GA-M56S-S3 Rev 1.0
Post by: Blocky23 on October 26, 2008, 11:56:15 am
 ???  ???  ???  ???
I have a new motherboard and can get it to do nothing. I have a new power supply 500w, AMD 64 Athlonx2 processor and a new graphics card PCI-E 16 ATI. I turn it on and the fans work but there is no display and it does not sound as if it is doing anything.  Am I missing something, being a bit thick or just not read the instructions properly. Help!!!

Hi Blocky

check if you connected 4-pin power connector from the PSU to ATX_12V square socket on the MB

please clear CMOS by shorting for a few seconds pins of CLR_CMOS

if still no help then disconnect vga, hdd, optical drive, memory from MB, just leave only CPU and PSU. then check if there is any sound from speaker connected to F_PANEL pin header when power switch on. if no sound it maybe failure of PSU / MB / CPU, then you will need to exchange each one of these 3 components to find out which one is damaged.
