Title: U2440N battery life
Post by: starjet on February 02, 2013, 06:57:34 am
Anyone else here who uses a U2440N? Seems to be kinda deserted, but I'll ask anyway.
I don't really use my notebook on battery cause I always have power outlets at the places where I take it to, so I didn't notice it all this time.

But the battery hardly lasts for 2 hours even on the super power saver profile where the processor is downclocked to 800Mhz. Is this normal, or do I have a faulty battery? With a 17W processor, I would've expected more battery life than this. Will have to consider buying the 4400mAh battery, I think.

EDIT: Typo in title

From your description, it sounds like a dead, or nearly dead battery. They only have a limited life, so if it is more than a couple of years old, or less, if not treated very well, a new battery is the first thing to try.

Actually, I bought this thing only a couple of weeks ago. And the weird thing is, if I use Windows 7, I get well over 4 hours of battery life. This is only in Windows 8. (Dual boot setup here.) Any idea how that could be?
