Title: 12GB (2x2GB + 2x4GB) on 890FXA-UD5

I'm making a new topic in order to make this easily searchable by people having the same question:

I already have 4GB of memory installed in my rig (2x2GB) Corsair 1600MHz XMS3 (CL9).
I wonder now, if I installed 8GB (2x4GB) additional memory from the same vendor (Corsair 1600MHz XMS3 CL11), would I run into trouble?

Mixing and matching RAM can lead to issues and is something that is best avoided.

That said, it is possible to do what you are thinking of but it can be problematic and you would probably have to alter BIOS settings to get things running smoothly, especially with the timings as your 4 gig kit is CL9 and the  8 gig kit is CL11.
