Title: Basic help with e6600 and EP43-UD3L to reach 3 GHz
Post by: wheelstb on January 24, 2010, 08:01:28 pm
I have not overclocked successfully before. I am hoping to reach3 GHz to relieve a bottleneck on my GTX 260 core 216.
I am running 4 GB of Kingston 800 MHz RAM.

I was told that before I could begin overclocking I needed to lower either my memory timing or my memory frequency I do not remember which. Could somebody explain to me why I need to change the setting and how to go about doing so.

What other settings besides CPU frequency should I mess with to reach 3 GHz safely?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
