Title: GA-M720-US3. PCI bus stopped working (all 4 slots)
Post by: Scaper7 on April 16, 2013, 01:06:08 pm
Re: GA-M720-US3 rev1.0

PCI bus seems to have stopped working. Cannot get windows to recognise any PCI cards in PCI slots. PCI cards function normally in other computer. No conflicts in Device Manager. PCIe slots are working OK.  Have flashed/updated BIOS, reinstalled chipset drivers.

I'm just about ready to buy a refurb'ed MoBo to replace this one but I have a nagging doubt this will actually fix it. Is there some possibility this might be a windows/OS issue?

Know anything about it?

It might be that the slots to be dead if the expansion cards work in other mobo
Did those PCI slots ever worked ,or you ve discovered the issue now ?!

Hi Scaper 7

do try the usual tests, disconnect hardware that could be faulting. such as dvd drives etc, but leave things in that you need for the machine to function.

quick question, does the onboard sound and Lan still work?

check your power supply, try a different one if possible, bad feed to the mainboard could result in malfunctions

do a good backup and reinstal o/s, it could be some corrupt registry entries/drivers etc, its usually quicker to reinstall than to track down the problem.

good luck
