Hey all,
Would it be worth upgrading my current system with one of these: AMD (Piledriver) FX-6300 3.50GHz (4.10GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 6-Core Processor ?
Thanks

As you are having already a six core i am not sure.:)
But it may be that in some areas the FX to be better.
Strangely enough(in spite of the negative hype over FX) the power consumption might be lower with the FX.
You also have more instructions on the FX pipeline for the future applications.
It may also be cooler.
I intend to buy one myself and replace the 975BE that i use,but choosing a motherboard after the 970A-UD3 disappointment it s very hard for me personally.
In your place i would go for a FX 8320.
LE:We seem to have similar video cards ,but mine unlocked by using a simple slider to 6970 no need to flash :)

Hello vezina,
Thanks for your reply, I did look at the fx 8300 but was not sure it would work with my current setup as I could not find it on gigabyte CPU compatibility page on there website.
Cheers mate,

As you can see i use the 1090t myself and after very much reading am staying with it till something that can match it or surpass it. Pros and cons for both but me i will wait till i can see a performance improvement.

There are some 6-core comparisons on the internet all suggesting it's not worth switching to an FX
