Title: G1.Sniper M5 - Overclocking help
Post by: bluelou on August 13, 2013, 03:25:46 pm
Hi

I have the G1.Sniper M5 motherboard and I would like to overclock a bit. I am really a noob when it comes to OC-ing so I have used GigaByte EasyTune app. So far I have gone with the Auto Tuning option and the application reports back that I am able to run the CPU at 4.6 Ghz. When running the stability test included in the AIDA64 app I get the following read out from CPU-Z and the following temps from Core Temp (see attached img)

To my knowledge those temps are not good. Same goes for the Core Voltage value?

My idle temps @ 4.6 Ghz is at 30-32 C

I know that someone thinks OC by using the EasyTune app is not the best option in terms of outcome, but when trying to change values directly in the BIOS I only get BSOD. Can't evt get it to run stable at 4,0 Ghz when doing it manually.

Does anyone have a really good step by step guide on how to OC this board?

MY SETUP:
CPU: i7-4770K
Mobo: Gigabyte G1.Sniper M5, Socket-1150 - F7 BIOS
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1866MHz 16GB - 2x8GB CL9 XMP 1,5V, Red
Cooler: Corsair H100i With x2 Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm
GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 770 2GB PhysX CUDA - GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5
