I'am thinking about getting this board for a system with AMD FX-8350 and a G.Skill DIMM 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL, Ripjaws-Serie).
It should replace a system with a NH-C12P S14 cooler. That's a monstrous down-blower, which would fit on the GA-78LMT-USB3 too. The fan of that cooler is a 14cm high quality fan with 3 pins.
In the manual of the older GA-78LMT-USB3 revision 3 there is a "CPU Smart FAN Mode". It could be switched to "Voltage" for 3-pin fans. This option is missing in the manual of the revision 5.
Was it simply forgotten to be mentioned in the manual for the revision 5? Or is this option removed in the newer revision?

if using 3 pin cpu fan, it will run as voltge mode.

Does this work automatic and without changing something in the bios setup?

I'am asking this because in ther german forum there is a user with the GA-78LMT-S2P revision 4.0 who simply can't switch to voltage control and he has tried his 3 pin cpu fan already: It just keeps blowing at full power! No voltage regulation with that board revision.

So what is with the revision 5.0?
- No Voltage regulation for the CPU fan?
- You have to adjust the control mode in the bios to voltage regulation?
- No bios option avaible, it just happens automagical, sensing a forth pin connected or not?

I wrote to the support and became with in hours this answer:
"Das ganze ist ein wenig kompliziert das gebe ich zu.
Allerdings ist es so,das Board GA-78LMT-USB3 gibt es nur in der Rev. 4.1 und 5.0
beide Boards haben ausschließlich 4 Pin PWM Lüfterunterstützung.
Der andere Fall ist das ältere GA-78LMT-S...
welches es in div. Revisionen gab.
Dort gab es verschiedene Lösungen der Lüftersteuerung."
Translation (hopdefully not too weird ;)):
"It's a little complicated, I had to admit.
The GA-78LMT-USB3 exists only in the revision 4.1 and 5.0. Both mainboards have only 4 pin PWM fan support.
The older GA-78LMT-S... is a different case. These boards had several options of fan control."

I installed the board now. Both fan connectors are 4pin and there is no option in the bios to switch those connectors to something like "voltage".
