Title: Buying Advice Needed
Post by: Ramer on February 04, 2014, 03:51:40 pm
I'm getting ready to build a new computer which I haven't done in a few years and I'm hoping someone can tell me if the following setup is compatible.

I already have 8 gigs of this memory: Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz PC3-10666 240-pin DDR3 Memory CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 (http://Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz PC3-10666 240-pin DDR3 Memory CMX4GX3M1A1333C9)

I'm also planning on getting this monitor: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-27-Inch-Touchscreen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00F86RO96/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1390925807&sr=1-2&keywords=touch+screen+monitor (http://www.amazon.com/Dell-27-Inch-Touchscreen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00F86RO96/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1390925807&sr=1-2&keywords=touch+screen+monitor) and using the DisplayPort. Will I be able to use a second monitor using DVI-D?

Thanks for the help  :)

Everything looks good to go on your parts. This is from the book:

Dual Display Configurations for the Onboard Graphics:
This motherboard provides four video output ports: D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Dual monitor
configurations are supported in operating system environment only, but not during the BIOS Setup or POST
process
