Title: GA 970-a-ud3p problem with memory

I buy this mobo to replace my MSI 970-a G46 , when i rise memory freq in bios enabling xmp profile my memory goes on 1600mhz but when i reboot to windows it says 8GB installed 3.98gb usable
When i go back to 1333mhz it say 8GB
im using Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
GA-970A-UD3P
AMD Phenom 965be 3.4mhz
Kingston HyperX 2x4gb   KHX24C11T3K2/8X

Please help me resolve this so i can return mobo if it can't get it to work,also will be any bios update for this board soon ? (only first relese averible on site)

You can try a different motherboard but it may not help. The AMD Phenom II 965BE is only rate at 1333MHz. You may be able to adjust the timings to get the RAM to run at 1600MHz but there is no guarantee that it will be stable.

I used to have a AMD Phenom II 960T in my main computer with DDR3 2x2GB. The RAM defaulted to 1333MHz. When I overclocked the CPU speed from 3.0GHz to 3.2GHz the RAM timings automatically changed so that it ran at 1600MHz. It seemed stable so I left it alone.

i already tryed MSI 970a-G46 and it runs fine on 1600mhz i don't know why this new motherboard can't run it like that it cleary says on the box that it will support up to 2000mhz with the right processor

did you try to enable rank interleaving and other option for memory

did you installed your ram to grey slots?
