Title: F2A88XN and A10 6700 APU
Post by: such on February 26, 2014, 03:39:22 pm
I have bought the above to do my first Amd build and emailed tech support to see if the bios would be compatible with the A10 6700.
Have just received a reply saying the board needs an update to work with the A10 6700, and I need to use an old FM1 or FM2 to update the bios.

The A10 6700 is FM2, so this should work? Why the hell are these boards released when they do not work with older APU's?
How am I supposed to update the bios without any "spare" amd processor?
Board is rev 3 and I have no idea what bios it is as it is still in box.

So, will it work or how do I update bios before building machine
or

Do I return for another make?

Also very frustrating dealing with a company whom you cannot get a quick reply or contact by phone.

Last GB product I'll be buying
Thanks

Not sure where tech support got their information from because according to the support page the A10 6700 APU is supported from BIOS version F1.
