Title: GA-970A-UD3 rev 3.0 "stutters" at startup when OCed
Post by: brad1138 on April 22, 2014, 03:58:39 am
When I turn my computer on when it is OCed, it powers up, lights, fans etc come on for a sec, then they go back out/off for a few secs, then they come back on and it boots normally. Occasionally it will do that cycle twice then boot. It runs solid otherwise. Also when rebooting, the fans/lights will go out for a few seconds before rebooting. When it isn't OCed, nothing goes off during reboot and it boots normally from cold start.

Anyone else seen this? Any ideas on what it could be? My CPU is an FX-8350, and I am currently OCing it at 4.620 GHz

I would like to report that I have the same issue with my 970A-UD3P

I had two processors in this board. My old trusty Phenom II 555BE and currently FX-8320.
I was very disappointed to find out that with Phenom anything other than stock clocks will result result in no boot, and after few cycles it will go back to Default Settings in BIOS.
With the FX on stock clocks it boots fine, but as soon as OC is applied it does that weird boot cycle as described in the post above. Lights come on, fans spinning and then it goes off entirely. It repeats the sequence again ant boots fine. Occasionally does that two times but once it's on stays stable.

Other thing I have noticed is that sometimes it will not shut down properly. It will keep on running and you have to power it down by holding the power button.
