Title: BRIX - can I upgrade the processor?
Post by: M__K on May 27, 2014, 01:38:10 pm
RE: Gigabyte BRIX GB-BXCEH-2955 Barebone

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about buying the above BRIX with a celeron processor as I'm getting a good deal on it (I think).

Can I upgrade the processor later on as you would with a normal ATX Motherboard or is it soldered onto the board?

Thanks!

MK

The CPU's are soldered to the motherboard. You won't be able to change the CPU later on. I'd avoid the Celeron unless you were getting it very very cheap.

It's a very slow CPU....but that model does offer room to install a laptop harddrive. (no room inside mine for one)
