Title: Let's play Spot-the-Difference!
Post by: Fierce Guppy on August 31, 2014, 08:37:06 am
I failed this challenge and so did a couple of others at tomshardware where I posed the same question.  Can you spot any difference in the specs, anything at all, that distinguishes the GA-X99-Gaming 7 WiFi from the GA-X99-Gaming G1 WiFi?

There is nothing and what they did was use the GA-X99-Gaming G1 WiFi Info and I mean everything and just change the name.

They even used most of the same pictures on both. The only picture they change was the one with the board & box.

Like I said all they did was change it from GA-X99-Gaming G1 WiFi to GA-X99-Gaming 7 WiFi at the top of the page on the site.

Even if you go to separate product pages there is no difference.

I found the difference. There is a heatpipe running from the top VRM heatsink to the chipset heatsink...TOTALLY worth the extra 50 euros ;)

That is about it and why would they run pipes between the heat sinks. All they are doing is running the hot air all over the place.

Don't be so cheap and put some small fans on some of the heat sinks instead.
