Title: T1005 Crystal HD Decoder
Post by: ifantig on September 16, 2014, 07:17:42 pm
Hi people.  I just purchased a used T1005p on e-bay and I am waiting for it to arrive.  I want to be able to play 720p and 1080p videos on it without taxing the CPU too much.  From what I am reading, the N550 should be able to handle 720p but not without hiccups.  Years ago, I had a Broadcom Crystal HD decoder in my HP mini (Atom N270) and it worked great.  1080p clips played flawlessly with the CPU at around 20% with the help of the decoder card.  Without the card, even 720p clips would not play smoothly even with a maxed out CPU.

I can't seem to find much info on the T1005 motherboard and if it will support one of these mini pci-e cards.  Can anyone out there tell me if there's a spare mini pci-e slot in the T1005 and whether or not that slot (if available), can support one of these decoders?
