Title: Gigabyte 870A-UD3 cpu compatibility - please help
Post by: Darius2014 on November 04, 2014, 08:17:22 pm
Hi guys! I'm looking to buy a new CPU. Up to now I've been using a Phenom X4 955, and I wanna buy a AM3+  AMD FX X6 6300 CPU.

Now, the thing is that 6300 is not on the cpu support list, but the 6200 is.
Will my motherboard support this new CPU?

Thanks!

Your rev is 3.1 I take it as that is the only revision to handle am3+ CPU's.  I wouldn't put in a 6300 as if the motherboard doesn't see it for what it is it will throttle it down to 800 and you wont be able to speed it up from there.
