Title: "error update.cpp 1185" when installing WLAN driver?
Post by: thomthoms3 on January 09, 2015, 04:45:59 am
I have a Gigabyte BA-B85N Phoenix Wifi rev 1.1 motherboard, so when I try to install the WLAN driver off of Gigabyte's website, I get to the install screen and get "error update.cpp 1185". I have tried letting windows install the driver through device manager and opening the local folder, but to no avail. I get the same error.

I have also tried running it as administrator, redownloading the driver, and all that. I still get the same error. Any ideas? I just need to get wifi working.

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64bit. Thanks!

edit: I am assuming WLAN is the correct driver to install in order to get Wifi working, if I am wrong please correct me.

Is the wifi antenna connected properly? That is the right driver the only other one has to do with Bluetooth. Have you contacted gigabyte support with this problem. It can take them up to 3 business days for a response at times.
