Title: Accidental damage policy

Hi guys, I have a gigabyte board which I purchased in September last year (2014), while fitting the mounting bracket for my water block which I got in November I accidentally scratched the board, the scratch clearly goes over some tracks on the board and the board now has issues with RAM.

I know the damage is the cause of the issue and it was my fault so I'm wondering if there's any point in me RMAing the board or will they just say accidental damage and refuse to replace it, I'm no engineer but I don't see any way they can repair the damage.

What's the policy on accidental damage?

Hi

It all depends how many tracks on the PCB are damaged. If you are from UK / IRL then take a good quality photo of this area (macro mode would be the best) and send to our RMA team via email (returns@gbt-tech.co.uk) asking for verification and the final answer.
