Title: 78LMT-USB3 Need Temp advice ASAP!
Post by: Menelaus on July 01, 2015, 11:28:21 am
Hello,

I've been running a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 mobo for 2 years now and its VERY good but now in the height of summer I'm VERY worried about my board temps.

Using a variety of software, I see the Northbridge temp hits 81c under heavy load!

My cpu hits a max of 60c, my gpu hits a max of 76c - looking at info they are within "safe" limits.

but I don't think the northbridge temp is.  Right now I've stopped gaming on my PC and only using it for browsing as I'm scared of causing permanent damage by running with it around 80c.

Can you tell me:-

1: What the max "safe" limit is for the NB on this board
2: any ways of dropping the temp (there seems to be no space to fit a fan)

Thank you

Edit:-  after much research I've found that TMPIN2 is actually the VRM on gigabyte board, so thats what its 80c
I'm assuming this is still unsafe.  is there anything I can do?
