Title: Brand new i7 47..k and GA-Z97X-UD7 TH error code C0 and no boot or post

I've been searching all over the place and the closes i've found was this post.

Where is the 'approved' ram list?

Here is the ram I am using.

I've re checked the processor 3 times to make sure its seeded correctly. If I try to boot with no ram i get code 20, but I can't find any information on this.

I've removed the battery and reset the cmos using the button on the board. And I still get nothing.

There are no hard drives hooked up, no extra video card, nothing. Thoughts?

You said you have check the CPU 3 times. Did you look at the pins. Have you just tried one stick or other memory?

I've tried all 4 memory sticks individually and in combinations.

This is the processor I bought.

I didn't notice any pins, which coincides with this post....

Are there pins, and I am missing something? I'll tear the fan back off and take another look. From the housing it doesn't look like there are many ways it wouldn't mount correctly.

Thanks for all the help.

Straydoginc,
What dmdilks is referring to is the socket itself, not the bottom of the CPU.  A nice magnifying glass makes quick work of it...  If bent pin(s) are found I use a credit card to fix, but everyone has their own way.  Your memory doesn't appear to be on the QVL for your board.  You can try re-seating.  C0 error is non-descript (reserved, CPU Status, memory issue).    A CLR_CMOS and battery pull may also be a good idea.

Bent pins on the socket. Sending back to Amazon for a replacement. :( Thanks guys. And so you are saying my memory is compatible? no worries there then?

I don't believe your particular memory was on the QVL for this board.  That doesn't mean it won't work, its just not tested or certified compatible.  Its usually safer to use memory that is certified for your board.  Sorry about the PINs.  Happens, just not often.
