Title: GB-BXPi3-4010 - with external USB DVD - DVDs don't play with any player
Post by: Fluffykins on September 02, 2015, 10:20:10 pm
OK. I have a GB-BXPi3-4010 with an external, IDE DVD ROM connected via an IDE to USB adapter. I'm using VLC Media player (Latest version).

Graphics driver is the latest version per Gigabyte website.

If I try to play a normal DVD (Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring), VLC gets as far as starting but not as far as roening the DVD. The only thing I get is that VLC player stops responding.

Same with MS Media player

Same with UMPLayer

I then have considerable trouble making the player shut down.

I conclude it is something to do with copy protection borking the playback at the graphics card level.

Any ideas, anyone?
