Title: Computer turns off momentarily on startup
Post by: elmunkee on February 11, 2009, 02:42:34 pm
hey every1, Got a wee question.

Ive just recently finished building my corei7 build.

Spec-

Gigabyte UD4P Mobo
Corei7 920 2.6Ghz @ 3.8Ghz
Akasa Nero LGA1366 Cooler
BFG GTX280 oc
OCZ 3GB PC3-12800 Gold Low-Voltage 1600Mhz
3 X 250GB HD (2xhitatchi 1xWDC)
750W ThermalTake Toughpower
NZXT Hush case

The system runs fantastically and have no problems apart from one wee niggle.

Everytime I power on the system (Power button) the system turns on then almost immediately shuts off, then 2 seconds later powers on again and continues to boot fine.

Pretty sure this only happens when the system is overclocked/underclocked

Im just wondering if anyones experienced this happening or does this happen for anyone?

This post( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/page-256150_10_0.html ) shows other people with this phenomenon so im assuming all is well and it just one of these things lol

cheers for your help

 :)

I think it is just normal, maybe it could be the dual BIOS (not even totally sure what that is)
I get that when I start my pc too, but is perfectly stable with the overclock.

What is your mobo bios version ? Have you tried to upgrade it to the newest one ?
